| Well my business and organizational
professionals, colleagues, and entrepreneurs, I am pleased
to announce the opening of Vision Achieved™ Strategies,
LLC (VA STRAT™). As delighted as I am to introduce
VA STRAT™, I want to take a moment to provide you
my motivation for its establishment. |

| I have experienced, observed, and studied
organizations of all sizes and structures grapple with
two of the greatest challenges in our modern business
era: Positioning for long-term strategic success while
meeting short-term objectives and effectively leveraging
and aligning human capital and information systems/technology
with organizational strategy. The key to long-term organizational
success, as many of us know, is in how we formulate and
execute strategy. But despite this known, or theorem,
very few organizations really know where they are going
and even fewer can define, in tangible terms, just what
it is they are going after. But it doesn’t end
there. I have also observed countless of “Mr. Fix-it” firms
articulate value, especially in the area of strategy,
which they simply do not provide. The reason for this
is because strategy itself is complex. As a result, many
consulting firms in fact cannot clearly articulate the
specific niche or unique aspects of strategy in which
they provide value. As a result, the world “strategy” has
become the most overused term perhaps in our modern business
landscape. All of a sudden strategy has come to apply
to every business area and define every business activity
and function within an organization. Many of us at one
time or another was faced with a firm in which the lead
consultant nods her head and says, “Yes, we can
do that!” That should ring bells. Just how can
a company provide value when in fact it cannot clearly
define its value? It cannot. VA STRAT™ has a defined
offering in which “we can” is clearly stated
as “we do” or “we do not.” Believe
me: Your organization deserves to know. |
| Thus, let me articulate the value that
is VA STRAT™. VA STRAT™ is first and foremost,
a deep-niche strategy consulting firm that focuses on
the modern-day enablers of human capital and information
systems/technology management from an overarching, holistic
perspective. In addition, VA STRAT™ believes strongly
in the value of business performance measurement (BPM)
tools that are under (if at all) utilized or not utilized
properly. VA STRAT™ is committed to showing firms
the real value that BPM tools can provide. Third, I sincerely
do not buy into the notation of “best practices” and
industry “lessons learned” as suitable solutions
for each and every organization within or outside an
industry. Modern organizations have always been, and
especially are today, much more complex for such a simplistic
approach. And lastly, the challenge still exists (and
is in fact increasing) on how organizations should align
human capital and information systems/technology with
organizational strategy to deliver on long-term business
objectives without losing focus of short-term objectives
and requirements. |
| So what is VA STRAT™? VA STRAT™ is
an experience. It is a research-driven strategy consulting
firm that seeks to go beyond consulting. VA STRAT™ will
apply intense focus on helping its customers achieve
innovative breakthroughs. In addition, VA STRAT™ has
an added objective to instutionalize its processes, systems,
guidance, and recommendations. We in no way desire dependency.
We in no way believe that consulting firms should soak-up
scare resources waiting for the execution of ill-defined
and hazy deliverables. Instead, our value is in providing
value-added, unique services and products, which are
truly focused on strategy and the enablers of human capital
and information systems/technology. Each and every service
and product that VA STRAT™ provides stays true
to its core value offering and competencies: Providing
holistic strategy consulting services and products focused
on the enablers (through alignment) of human capital
and information technology. |
| Stating all of that, it is also necessary
for me to state this: Your organization can expect to
be treated and served as the distinct entity that it
is. In other words, some of our clients will have well-defined
methodologies and processes for developing their strategies.
We understand that. As a matter of fact, we applaud these
types of organizations. Others may not be as fortunate.
But remember, VA STRAT™’s value-offering
extends beyond the planning and in some cases implementation
functions. Upon review of our services and products,
you will come to see exactly what we mean: VA STRAT™ portfolio
has something for every organization. |
That brings me to my final point. Many
friends and colleagues have asked me the standard question:
Just who are
VA STRAT™’s customers? I can
answer that question quite easily because it was at the
forefront of developing VA STRAT™. If your organization
desires to really pursue strategy and focus on the enablers
that matter -- VA STRAT™ is indeed a company you
should consider. Thus rather corporate or private, large
or small, nonprofit/government or entrepreneur, if you
sincerely desire to move forward with clarity, focus,
and purpose, again -- VA STRAT™ is indeed a company
you should consider. These are the issues your organization
cannot afford to overlook and address – head on! |
